Useful and Best Mascara Tips for You

The eye is the most alluring feature on the human body and it is your eyes that attract people. So, you simply cannot ignore your eye makeup. Emphasis can easily be applied on your eyes by using mascara. Mascara is designed to make your eyes look more beautiful and pretty. It may darken, thicken, lengthen, or define your eyelashes in the way you want it to be. To help you highlight the beauty of your eyes with the help of mascara, here are some tips to consider:

Tip No.1 –Get the Best Mascara:

Best mascara

It is very important to choose the best mascara for yourself. When you shop for mascara, you need to keep in mind your skin color and the reason why you need mascara. There are mascaras that solve different purposes such as lengthening, thickening, give volume to your eyelashes, water-proof or perhaps non-clumping. Normally mascara comes in one of three forms—liquid, cake, or cream. If you think your lashes are more sensitive than average, you can find the best hypoallergenic mascara. It is advisable to get the best mascara from a reputed brand as you will apply it on your eyelashes. You simply cannot take the risk of using low quality mascara as it can lead to infection and damage the sensitive skin around your eyes.

Tip No.2 – Use Disposable Mascara Wand:

Disposable Mascara Wand

You must use a disposable mascara wand when applying mascara on your eyelashes. Just sweep a clean, fresh mascara wand through lashes to get the perfect eye makeup. Make sure your eyelashes are little wet at that time. You can buy disposable mascara wand from any popular cosmetic shop within your locality. Instead of throwing away the old mascara wand you can even recycle them. When your mascara is finished, you can clean the wand by using some good quality eye makeup remover. Dip the wand in eye makeup remover for some time and later on wash it with soap and dry. Remember you need to clean the wand properly before using it again as a dirty wand can lead to eye infections.

Tip No.3 – Mix Different Mascaras:

Mix Different Mascaras

Many beauty experts are in the favor of mixing different types of mascaras to make your eye lashes look beautiful and attractive. For instance, to make your eye lashes pop; you can apply one coat of lengthening mascara, and then apply one coat of thickening mascara. Remove the extra mascara from your eye lashes by using a clear spoolie wand. By mixing different types of mascara, you can get a unique look.

Tip No.4 – Use Colored Mascara:

Colored Mascara

When it comes to mascara, the first color that comes to our mind is black. Well, mascara in black shade is the most popular one as it works for everyone. But black mascara is not for red heads or light skinned blondes. Instead, you must experiment with different shades such as purple, blue mascara, brown, dark brown, mahogany, grey, green, burgundy, pink and so on. Choose colored mascara that suits your skin tone. For instance, blondes can go for brown mascara whereas those blue eyes can choose blue mascara. Pink or purple mascara look good on those having brown eyes. Well, when you buy mascara make sure it is of perfect shade and is in harmony with your other makeup products.

Tip No.5 –Use Eyelash Curler:

Eyelash Curler

Before applying your best mascara, use an eyelash curler to make your eyes appear wider. Before using the curler, make it warm by shoot warm air from your blow dryer on the mascara curler. Well, before using it, you need to be sure that your eyelash curler is not too hot. It is also advisable to use the eyelash curler before applying mascara because your eyelashes are much more flexible and soft at the latest.

Tip No.6 – Highlight the Edges:

Apply mascara

First apply a single coat of mascara on your eyelashes by moving the wand from left to right. Hold the brush at 90 degrees while applying the mascara to have the best results on. Give priority to the root because this is the point from where your eyelashes will look longer. Move the wand upwards while constantly wiggling it as it helps in separating the lashes. Now give a few coats to the edges by blinking. Blink onto the brush to give ends an extra coat. Lastly, shut your eyes and move the wand from the foundation of the lash up to the tip. This will help in removing any clumps.

Tip No.7 –Take Precautions:

Mascara tips

At times when you apply mascara you don’t get it done correctly. To avoid getting mascara on the lids or cheeks you can put a business card or post-it note under the lower lashes or behind the upper lashes before applying. As a precaution put some talcum powders under the eyes before you apply mascara. Sometimes mascara smudges because it’s attracted to oil and creams. A popular smudge-proof tip is to bend the wand at a right angle so that it becomes easier for you to keep your hand steady. Wait for five seconds before blinking as otherwise you will paint your lids with mascara. Also it is important to sit comfortably and only with steady hand you must apply the mascara.

Tip No.8 – Apply on Upper Lashes:

Mascar eyes

It is usually recommend applying mascara only on the upper lashes if you are looking forward to dramatic look. But if you want to make your eyes look wider, you can apply mascara to the bottom lashes. The bottom lashes should be given a light touch. It is always better to apply mascara on bottom lashes first and then on upper lashes.  Remember, if you apply mascara to the bottom lashes, you will be more prone to getting smudges underneath your eyes and hence you need to take the precautions. You can even combine two colors when applying mascara on both upper and lower eye lashes.

Tip No.9 – Apply Single Coat:

Single coat mascara

Single coat of mascara gives you a subtle look. Usually, first coat of mascara is enough, but in case you want to apply another coat of mascara you should allow the first coat to dry completely or it will start flaking off and there will also by clumps. You can make your eyelashes look longer if you apply the second coat on the tips of your lashes.

Tip No.10 –Remove smudges:

Remove mascara smudges

In case there are any mascara smudges you need to remove them to get a nice look. Take a small cotton bud dipped in baby oil and place it on the top of the smudge, and gently rotate in place until it comes off. Make sure your other eye make-ups are in place.

Tip No.11 – Eyelash Primer:

Eyelash primer

Eyelash primer must be applied to the eyelashes before mascara. An eyelash primer helps in creating more surface area for the mascara to cover, making the eyelashes look thicker and longer. Primer should be used by those who like to use multiple shades of mascara on a regular basis or by those who like to use mascaras with different kinds of finishes such as matte or glossy on a regular basis. However, it is not necessary to use eyelash primer on daily basis but on special occasion it is must.

Tip No.12 –Keep Mascara Tube Properly:

Mascara tube

Before using mascara you need to shake the tube properly. Always scrape the excess product off the wand before applying it to the eye lashes. This will help in avoiding clumps on the lashes. Also never pump wand in and out of the tube. This only introduces air into the tube, which will cause your mascara to dry out sooner than it should.

Tip No.13 – Mascara Lifeline:

Manufacturing date of mascara

Always remember that you need to use mascara for up to 3 years from the date of manufacturing. After that, it is advisable to discard the one you are using and get a new one. You will get the best results only when your mascara is in good condition. When buying your best mascara, always keep a note of the manufacturing date. You can find the manufacturing and expiry date of the product on the cover of the tube. Also you should throw out your mascara if it smells strange and dries out.

Tip No.14 – Remove Mascara Safely:

Remove Mascara Safely

When you apply mascara remember that you need to remove mascara before going to sleep. Never go to sleep with mascara on as it can result in bacterial infection. Also if you have applied thick mascara, there is always a risk that it can get into your eye and cause red, swollen eyes in the morning. With mascara on, you will also wake up with raccoon eyes that surely no one likes to have. The easiest and simplest way to remove mascara before going to sleep is to use facial cleansing wipes to remove as much mascara as possible.

Conclusion: Well, remember the above mentioned tips and give your eyelashes the best treatment. Always remember the key to beauty is looking as natural as possible. So, now it is time to open your eyes to the world!

Wow. I am in *awe* of how much you could write about mrcaasa!!I haven’t used mrcaasa for a long, long time. Some time around the beginning of grad school I started using a moss-green eye pencil, and that eye-liner has been my only make-up for the last 20 years I use a Lancome pencil, only because I’ve not been able to find the right color in any cheaper, drugstore, brands. I buy a new pencil about once every two years. However, I am turning 48 in a few days, and I’ve noticed that my lashes are losing their color. There may be mrcaasa in my future, and I’ll keep all your advice in mind. Say, my daughter is close in age to your youngest. Last year she started asking me about using an eye liner. Have your daughters asked about using mrcaasa?

I spent ages searching for? a nice mascara for my sensitve eyes. I found one that’s water resistant so it stays on better and doesn’t smudge, with camomile and organic aloe vera in it. I got it from a website called ‘nemki health’.

Lots of great tips! One thing that I have been doing that seems to help my mascara go on a bit more smoothly is to warm my mascara in a cup of hot water for a few minutes. Not only does it seem to go on more smoothly, the warm mascara just feels good!

There are so many tips! A lot of your “musts” and “rules” seem to apply only to you though. I am a strawberry blonde, and yes, black mascara does work for me (and other blondes). A primer is not a must, and you don’t have to use a disposable wand. There are no set rules for how to do your make up, do what works best for you!
